About

The Licit Substances Laboratory (Licit Lab) in the Behavioral Pharmacology Research Unit of Johns Hopkins University comprises of a multifaceted team of researchers investigating the behavioral pharmacology of licit substances including tobacco, nicotine, stimulants, alcohol, and cannabis. The research team is committed to conducting stringent clinical research that can be applied to make informed decisions in public health policies, regulation of licit substances, and prevention and treatment modalities.

We have several sources of funding from different organizations for our research including the U.S Food and Drug Administration and National Institutes of Health. Currently our lab is recruiting cigarette and e-cigarette smokers. All our studies require visits to The Joseph V. Brady Behavioral Biology Research Center located at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Campus. Study sessions range from 30 minutes to 7 hours. Please visit our research page to learn more about our current studies or call (410) 550-5143.
